I went a little overboard with my mother’s birthday gift. As you might know, I took her to Chicago last week so she could see the Cubs play at Wrigley Field as her birthday gift. Unfortunately, the Cubs lost both the games we attended.
More of Chicago
Of course, most of my vacations consist of eating amazing food and there’s no way we could go to Chicago without getting deep-dish pizza! While I personally prefer New York style Pizza (Grimaldi’s being number one spot in Vegas) I do like to partake in a good deep dish while I’m out there.
Chicago
Along with the two Cubs games we attended, my mom and I packed a lot into our short trip. She had given me a list of things that would be cool to do/see while in Chicago and we accomplished a good number of them.
Go Cubs Go!
Chicago holds such a special place in my heart for many reasons. Three summers ago three of my best friends moved there. I was so excited for them. I felt like they were doing real adult things.
Blogging While Backpacking
Before I left for Korea I was really excited to write blog posts about it. I totally imagined I would be writing while I was over there. I had planned to keep my readers up to date with what was currently happening on my trip.
Ho Chi Minh to Vegas in 40+ Hours
While I would like to consider myself an experienced traveler, I still make a lot of dumb mistakes. Sarah and I were joking that I should have called my blog “Idiot Abroad” or “Traveling for Dummies.”
Ho Chi Minh
We had signed up for a Cu Chi Tunnels tour through TripAdvisor, who partners with Viator to do the tours. It was $26 per person for a half-day tour and included hotel pick up and drop off.
Balling “Off” a Budget
Queen of making stupid and expensive travel errors
Night On the Town
The rest of the night was my favorite part of KL. While I love doing outdoorsy activities, these were experiences I have never had before and they were unforgettable. Sarah and I dressed in the nicest outfits we had brought (shorts and a cute top for me).
Kuala Lumpur
We met up with Jill’s father at the airport, who had arrived a couple hours before us. He’s a cool dude, always down for an adventure. We all took a taxi to our hotel. Jill and her father stayed at the Furama Bukit Bintang and they enjoyed it.
